First of all, do you know html? Neither do I, but we don't need to master html or css to make a good blog. All you need is patience and willpower. There's no time for laziness.
Where to start? Assuming that you've already done the most basic things like filling up your profile and keep your archive acessible, you may want to deal with design.
Having a relevant layout is necessary. You want people to remember your blog and not feeling Déjàvu. There are various ways to achieve that. The easy one is getting a template from web, you just have to search for "blogger templates". After you find a good template, download and unzip it.
Now go to your dashboard > design > edit html. Before you do anything, you may want make a backup of your now old template, just in case something goes wrong or you want use it again. Now, look for you new XML template. Upload.
Follow the steps |
If you see a warning like this:
Click "Keep Widgtes".
Now your blog has a free (and maybe unique) template. BUT BE CAREFUL: free templates often come with unwanted advertising and other unwanted widgets that will mess up your blog. Get ride of them!
Like I said before, that is the easy way, but is NOT the best way to improve your blog. In the next posts I will talk about other ways.
Awesome, gotta find some good templates now.

ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of great templates out there but you have to pay close attention and test them before hand by using a test blog because many times there are features that don't work properly.
